Performance Stamping is a Chicago-area manufacturer of precision metal stampings and stamped assemblies serving appliance, power generation, and general industrial OEMs. Founded in 1940, the company operates from Carpentersville, Illinois, with two facilities totaling more than 85,000 square feet. The business supports customers who need consistent output, manufacturable designs, and dependable execution over long program lives.

Performance provides end-to-end stamping support, from early engineering input through sustained production. The operation runs mechanical and hydraulic presses from 22 to 600 tons, including long-bed capability with beds up to 144″, giving the team the tonnage and size flexibility to match forming requirements, manage process windows, and maintain repeatability as volumes change. This equipment base is built to handle both straightforward stampings and more demanding parts that require controlled forming and tight dimensional performance.

Core capabilities include deep draw stamping, progressive die stamping, and compound/blanking die stamping. Performance produces small to large quantity stampings with multi-feature parts that combine forms at different radii and profiles, tight feature control, and stable relationships between critical elements. Typical capability targets include hole features held to ±0.003″, GD&T requirements held to 0.010″, cut edge control to ±0.005″, and cut edge-to-form relationships held to ±0.010″. For programs that require more than a stamped blank, Performance also supports higher process complexity through secondary in-die operations, including clinching and assembly steps performed within the die to reduce downstream handling, shorten cycle time, and improve consistency.

Beyond the press, Performance provides value-added services that help customers consolidate suppliers and simplify coordination. These include assembly, welding, tapping, deburring, plating, powder coating, and packaging support. Engineering and problem-solving are integrated into the day-to-day workflow, helping customers improve manufacturability, control variation, and stabilize production performance over time.
